Every Friday...

...during the Winter (yep that's now folks!) the bar will be open from approx 6:30pm; fish 'n chips from Mr Cod to order and pleasant company for a good old chat.  Why not come along and put the world to rights; dream of your victory at Leamington or Worthing next year and raise a few quid for the Club.  Some evenings will have special events so keep coming back and watch the space below.

Crown Green Evening

We more or less stayed dry……… Crowned our 2011 winners Les Robinson and Jennie Clapham. Congratulations!

John Allen kept the games running to schedule beautifully and food was served throughout avoiding a large queues but ensuring the right pauses in play.

The evening was deemed a great success with Vic and Bernie sizzling sausages, flipping burgers and spicing up Chicken to order…. Delicious!  The "all you wanted to eat" salad bar was also well received.

Jan harried and parried you all and ensured you parted with your spare cash, and in total we made a profit across the ticket sales, raffle and spider of £154.  All these fund go back into the club.

One of our new members Peter Mott was the lucky recipient of the Reserve Port, winning the glow in the dark Spider, and even luckier, George Palmer, who was presented by Peter with his winnings as he had provided Peter with his woods!

We had many lucky raffle winners, but Mr Rushton who had left just before the draw to catch some zzzz's before an early start to Worthing, bagged the first ticket, tempting as it was to select him the Red Hand Bag, we thought we had better go with the Whiskey!

Everyone joined in with the Red White and Blue Dress code, but our winner by far and away the smartest, was Janet Allen who bagged the tin of sweets and kindly shared them at the end of the evening with the flagging helpers who needed a sugar rush!

The Bar will also have made good profits during the evening as most the Good Old Boy flew out of the tap and the of course Brian Price and Jennie kept things running smoothly.

As a group we also toasted Alan Griffin with a drop of scotch, courtesy of Sue, we raised our glasses heavenward in memory.

All in all a great evening, thanks to all who supported it and to those who missed out …. Pam will soon be back on her feet watch this space for our next event.

Summer Tour 8 - 15 July 2012

Following our long tradition of a Summer tour, this year the club will be touring Devon and staying at the Grosvenor Hotel in Ilfracombe.  This is a family run hotel with excellent food.  The cost of the tour will be between £350 and £400 (depending on numbers).  This will cover the cost of half-board at the hotel, transport to and from Devon and of course transport to the match venues.  Bowlers from other clubs will be most welcome to join us, as will any non-bowlers who may fancy a relaxing week with us in Devon.  Send an email to Sue Griffin or contact her at Whiteknights for further details.
